Our Rail Corridor Access & Control Office is seeking a Workblock Planning Officer to facilitate the planning and scheduling of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million dollar and multi-year track work of Capital Projects Group (CPG), Rail Corridors (RC) and Third-Party Projects from inception to completion while maintaining Operations and the customers it serves. What will I be doing?
Consults with construction project teams to ensure that planning is completed prior to the commencement of work and to establish sequencing and duration of the project.
Develops working schedules which delineate the sequence of work activities and contract timing requirements.
Recommends corrective action to Project Managers as required.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a diploma in Business Administration, Transportation or Rail Operations, Logistical planning or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certification is an asset.
Problem solving and analytical skills to develop work schedules for multiple construction projects and to identify opportunities to combine work activities of various groups to minimize service disruption.
