Urgently recruiting 2 Welder / Fitters and or Journeyman / women for a structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary!

Details :

• Start : ASAP
• Length of Assignment : 3 months (Temporary)
• Wages : $20 - $32 per hour Please note this depends on experience
• Shifts Currently Available (½ unpaid lunch) :
• Night Shift (5) depending on the project :
• 3 : 30pm to 11 : 00pm 8 hr shift
• 3 : 30pm to 1 : 00am 10 hr shift
• Location : Calgary, Alberta

Duties

• Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.
• Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
• Working on skids, handrails, ladders, and platforms
• Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.
• Completes assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.
• Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, etc.
• Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.
• Needs to adjust welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
• Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and / or when required.

Requirements

• Experience required : 2nd year apprentice, 3rd year apprentice, Journeyperson and or experience fitters.
• PPE Required : Steel Toe boots, basic hand tools (air die grinder, extension core, MIG pliers, paint scraper). leather tongue boot cover, welding helmet and gloves
• Must have a reliable source of transportation.
• Specialization in structural construction welding is considered an asset.
• Any position requires CWB FCAW / MCAW ticket - We look for S class CWB tickets, not FW class. If the candidate does not have an active CWB ticket, they must be willing to do a weld test with us prior to receiving an offer.
• Possesses a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
• Possesses knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.
