Job Title : Warehouse Worker

Job Description

Contractors will be working at the Ecommerce distribution center near Calgary. The workers will be cross-trained in all departments of the warehouse.

The fulfillment center is automated, so computer knowledge and attention to detail are required. Items will be up to 50lbs, so they must be comfortable with heavy lifting.

If anything is heavier, it will be a team lift.

Work Environment

There are two main departments : non-convoy (manual / forklifts) which is physically demanding with heavier products, and convoy (automated picking).

Equipment includes Centre Riders and Crown Machines. Shifts are 10 hours, running from 6AM to 4 : 30PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (with Friday being a flex day).

During peak season from October to January, agency workers are expected to work 4 shifts, with the possibility of a 5th shift for overtime after 44 hours in a week.

Pay schedule is Friday - Saturday. Starting wage is $19.50 / hr.

Responsibilities

  • General duties including loading and unloading trailers.
  • Work in Picking, Receiving, and Shipping areas as business dictates.
  • Stock replenishing and restocking of inventory / customer product.
  • Maintain order filling performance expectations while maintaining picking accuracy.
  • Adhere to all Operations policies and procedures.
  • Maintain associate-related programs and procedures, including health and safety and housekeeping programs, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policy.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain accuracy while performing duties.
  • Ability to perform repetitive and heavy lifting.
  • Must meet the essential performance requirements of the position.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly up to 10 hours per day.
  • Willingness to be trained to perform tasks while operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Must have steel-toed safety shoes / boots for the first day.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an MHE License.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with RF Scanners, forklift, inventory, loading, material handling, computer operation, picking, packing, pallet jack, order picking, unloading, packaging, shipping and receiving, and labeling is preferred but training will be provided.
  • Minimum education : High School.
  • Must pass a record check.
  • Reliable transportation is required as public transit is not accessible.
