POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Program Manager, Creative and Digital Media, is responsible for planning, coordinating, and developing videos for targeted Public Works Department projects and digital photography for Department assets and events;
working closely on a regular basis with all Department Branches and Corporate Communications to ensure new video and digital photography communication products are current, updated as needed and align with Department and Corporate vision.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualizes and develops through to production a range of communication videos, photos and graphics that promote and support program activities of the Department.
- Provides electronic media expertise to assist the Program Manager with digital media that supports continuity, consistency and effectiveness of messaging.
- Develops project plans, scripted templates and storyboarding that align with the Department’s vision and requirements.
- Liaises with internal contacts to obtain information required for developing and producing electronic media materials.
- Arranges photo and video shoots including booking equipment and scheduling time with required persons.
- Liaises with external agencies regarding collaboration on projects and ensures that consistent and effective communication materials are developed.
- Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch or Department objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Film and / or Video Production, Photography, Media Communications or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in creating corporate videos and taking a wide variety of photographs with ranging subject matter.
- Demonstrated experience using current video and photo cameras and audio recording devices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective and current communication strategies, particularly relating to electronic media.
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability in digital editing and related software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
