Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist

Location : Colborne, ON

Schedules : Casual shifts, Saturdays

VCA Canada Northumberland Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a Veterinary Assistant, Client Care Coordinator to join our team! This dual role is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital.

In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated!

Assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

Cultivating a warm, positive, compassionate atmosphere for our clients and patients

Managing email correspondence for clients, referring veterinarians, and internal office messages

Handling appointment scheduling, pet patient admission and discharge, and follow-up calls

Managing invoicing / billing, including creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments

General cleanliness maintenance in reception, pet holding areas, and common spaces

Demonstrating willingness to learn about pet nutrition, veterinary services, and updated medical office procedures

Remaining calm and adaptable in stressful situations

Taking initiative and working independently

A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset
