Truck Equipment Installer

LOCATION : Innisfil, ON

WORK ENVIRONMENT : In-Shop

TYPE : Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

We are currently looking for a Truck Equipment Installer to join our team. The Truck Equipment Installer is responsible for performing installations and product enhancements on a variety of equipment.

This role involves collaborating with Technicians on the maintenance and repair of trucks and heavy equipment as needed.

The Installer will interpret build diagrams and follow oral and written specifications to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.

Ensuring a high-quality finished build, including the final testing of equipment performance, is a key responsibility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Forklift license or willing to obtain
• 1 years’ experience as a Shop Assistant or Mechanic, preferably working with heavy duty equipment
• Combined general mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly skills
• Hydraulic hose routing and system installation
• Welding and fabricating an asset
• Mechanical aptitude or previous truck equipment and body installation experience required is an asset

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Complete installation and product enhancements on heavy-duty equipment and conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections for new units.
• Perform welding tasks as required.
• Install and / or remove equipment from vehicles using air, power, and hand tools, following technical information and shop service procedures.
• Fabricate special components to facilitate the installation of necessary equipment in vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in electronic equipment and installations to correct operational issues.
• Repair electronic equipment and installations to restore them to optimal operating conditions.
• Operate installed equipment to test or demonstrate functionality.
• Conduct regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs on installed equipment to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
• Assist Technicians with minor maintenance and mechanical repairs of trucks and heavy equipment.
• Support the completion of body modifications and installations.
• Aid in the inspection and diagnosis of equipment for minor repairs and maintenance.
• Document all equipment installations and repairs performed, recording work completed on appropriate work orders.
• Deliver and pick up parts as needed.
