Reporting to the Senior Manager - Contracts and Inspections, the jobholder performs various technical tasks associated with the organization of the City of Pointe-Claire's vehicle fleet.

He / she is called upon to manage contracts and carry out various projects. More specifically, the person is responsible for preparing technical documents, technical specifications and calls for tenders related to the purchase or maintenance of vehicles.

He / she manages the contracts awarded, follows up on various projects and researches the best practices and resources available in his / her field.

RequirementsThe jobholder must hold a college diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or in any other field considered appropriate.

Two (2) years of experience in a similar position are required for this job or any other combination of education and experience found equivalent under the established policy.

  • Relevant municipal and automotive experience will be considered an asset. The position also requires the following : · Good knowledge of the automotive and heavy vehicle mechanics field;
  • Knowledge of vehicle and equipment parts purchasing and acquisition procedures, computerized material management systems (CMMS), vehicle telemetry or fuel management will be considered an asset;
  • Skills in supervising and evaluating project work carried out under her or his responsibility· Capabilities and experience in project management· Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, tact and courtesy· A good knowledge of Word and Excel· A good knowledge of spoken and written English and French· Skills in using job-specific instruments and tools· Skills in reading, interpreting and preparing plans, estimates and specifications· Skills in written and verbal communication and in preparing clear, concise reports· Ability to resolve complex problems related to her or his field of activity· Client service orientation· Ability to organize and plan her or his work· A valid Class 5 driver's license Working Hours35 hours per weekFor the period between Thanksgiving and the first Monday of May : Monday to Friday inclusively, 8 : 30 a.

m. to 4 : 30 p.m., minus one hour for lunch.For the period between the first Monday of May and Thanksgiving : Monday to Thursday inclusively, 8 : 00 a.

m. to 4 : 30 p.m., minus 45 minutes for lunch; Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to noon.
