Our client a leading Logistics company in Mississauga is looking to add a Day Shift Lead Hand to their growing team Great opportunity for experienced Team Lead with container lumping experience that is looking to grow into Supervisor role.

Job Responsibilities :

Position Responsibilities / Functions

• Team Lead for up to 15 contanier lumping staff and forklift operators.
• Work with Operations Supervisor on plans required for offloads.
• Read plans for offload.
• Report any damages of product received.
• Work with customs officers for any inspection along with Operations Supervisor.
• Supervise and unload containers of various products, skid, wrap or reload into other containers in the same format.
• Lead lumpers on what loads need to be skiidded and stored or reloaded for delivery.
• Off load containers with Counterbalance when needed.
• Train and coach new team members
• Monitoring and escalating attendance / late issues
• EH&S monitoring for steel toed saftey shoes and vests.
• Ability to prioritize activities
• Lead through example
• Other duties as assigned by Faciity Manager.
• Ensuring and particapting of Housekeeping of facility.

• Day Shift : 9 : 00am - 5 : 00pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility and overtime when needed.
• Pay Rate : $22.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay.

Position Knowledge

• Ability to multi-task & handle high volume workload while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to train and lead lumping staff.
• Ability to work with both internal staff, managment and customs officers.
• Previous experience in lumping - loading, unloading containers.
• Experience working in distribution or transportation environment.
• Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to perform repetitive actions
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 50lbs

Position Experience

• Minimum 1-3 years in lumping - loading / offloading containers.
• Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must have experience with RF Scanner.
• Must be looking for a long term opportunity.
• Must have clean criminal record.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge.
• Must be experienced in team leadership, decision making, priority setting
• Certification and experience Forklift Counterbalance.
• Experience with working with all staff both internal and external.
• Experience working in a bonded facility an asset.
