Claren Academy is an independent elementary school in downtown Vancouver. Opened in September 2017, Claren Academy was founded with the goal of offering Education for the Future and focuses on integrating our three pillars of creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship into the BC Curriculum.

In the 2022 / 2023 school year, Claren Academy will expand to offer Kindergarten to Grade Seven, with a long term vision of expanding up to Grade 12.

The school is located in the heart of Yaletown which allows students to access a wealth of local resources, field trips, and community events.

Claren Academy has just moved into a brand new facility at 1085 Homer

As a small independent school that operates in a non-unionized environment, our staff works closely together as a team, often jumping in and assisting others when needed.

As a TOC with Claren Academy you could be asked to fill in for last minute absences for classroom teachers, provide coverage for staff who are involved in professional development, or coverage for staff who require extra preparation time.

In all cases, lesson plans and materials will be provided for you and as a small school, and there are always plenty of other professionals on-site to answer any questions or provide support when you are at school.

Required Qualifications :

BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

CRRA Criminal Record Review

Able to work legally in Canada

Experience at the elementary or middle years level

Desired Qualifications / Attributes :

Experience in independent schools

Familiarity with the BC curriculum

Flexibility and availability

Comfortable working as part of a team
