Position Summary This position is responsible for performing elementary clerical work. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs elementary clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, stuffing and addressing envelopes, preparing files, etc.
  • May be asked to perform basic tasks on a computer, including simple data entry.
  • Performs basic duties in a library or bookstore or other similar environment, including shelving books, taking inventory, mending, cleaning and tidying displays.
  • Carries out basic housekeeping tasks in classrooms or labs and related instructional areas or in office areas.
  • Assists in the routine distribution of equipment, tools, supplies, educational materials, mail-outs, etc.
  • May be asked to make telephone calls of a routine nature.
  • May act as an usher or direct foot traffic at College functions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Must be registered as a VCC student and have basic oral and written English proficiency.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
  • Basic clerical ability.
  • Ability to use elementary office appliances and equipment.
  • Basic computer experience.
