Overview

This role, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, is responsible for managing the company's contracts across its various operations, working with suppliers, vendors, and third-party contractors.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the legal and operational teams, leveraging their industry knowledge and strategic mindset to optimize the company's contract management function.

Location

This full-time position is based at the corporate headquarters in Vancouver, with flexible work arrangements. Usually 3 days on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies for tendering, contract management, and supply agreements.
  • Conduct global tenders and assist in procurement for both active sites and new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with end users, legal teams, and the Director of Supply Chain to draft and negotiate contracts.
  • Review and approve contractual documents for awarding short and long-term supply and service agreements.
  • Analyze contractual requirements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any regulatory changes that could affect contracts and coordinate with legal counsel as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive records of contract performance and compliance, including managing the global contracts register.
  • Develop tools and templates to monitor the performance of contractors against agreed terms.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within supply chain processes and support related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support overall company goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a minimum of five years in the resource extraction industry.
  • Proven track record working with both operational and developmental projects.
  • Strong understanding of legal, contractual, and risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of procurement within the resource extraction industry.
  • Excellent project management and procurement skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, with experience in writing reports and delivering presentations.
  • Able to work effectively both in a team setting and independently.
  • Strategic thinker with a broad understanding of industry dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

This role is based in Vancouver and requires occasional travel both domestically and internationally, often on short notice (up to 10% annually).

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between CAD $120,000 and $150,000 per year, with additional details to be provided during the interview process.
