Skilled Residential Carpenter

We’re looking for someone with a great eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate, produce, and plan ahead to add to our team of dedicated and talented Carpenters working on High-end Residential Homes in Toronto.

Must Haves :

• Own vehicle and valid Ontario driver’s license
• Own tools and PPE
• Must own a smart phone with a data plan (Time Clock and Daily Logs will be input from your phone through the Buildertrend App) *Project Management Software experience an asset
• Live in the Toronto Area and be able to legally work in Ontario
• Ability to read, understand, and explain Architectural and Structural Drawings and relay details accordingly in English

Qualifications :

• 3+ Year Framing experience in High-end Residential Renovation / Custom Home Building field
• 3+ Years Trim / Finish Carpentry experience
• 3+ Years Exterior Carpentry experience
• Proven ability to work within deadlines and budgets
• Strong Time Management and Problem Solving skills
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety and Ontario building codes
• High standard of integrity, client satisfaction, and professionalism
• Excellent People skills; sub-trades, suppliers, clients, neighbors and SevernWoods staff
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolding
• Pay rate dependent on Experience & Skill Level

Responsibilities :

• Reporting to the Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor / Project Manager, ensuring the proper use of time, materials, & equipment for oneself and others on site
• Utilizing the Architectural and Structural drawings to construct the house according to all specifications
• Utilizing Buildertrend to accurately input Time Clock shifts correctly
• Responsible for organizing and producing carpentry work on site including framing, beam pockets, finish carpentry, back framing, window installation, and site cleanliness
• Have good understanding and knowledge of the following elements of the projects;
• Demolition
• Steel installation
• Temporary tree protection & site protection
• Framing carpentry & back framing
• Finished carpentry & trim work
• Insulation & drywall
• Roofing, eaves, soffits and fascia
• Priming, painting and staining
• Installation of exterior siding, cedar, decking and fencing
• Installation of stairs and railings
• Installation of doors, door hardware, & bathroom accessories
• Installation of tiles, flooring and other finishes
• Installation of cabinetry / millwork and stairs
• Sub-Contracted elements such as Masonry, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Automation, etc
• Aiding with erection of scaffolding, installation of tarps or other site materials may be required based on site needs or preparation needed for incoming trades
• Maintain a safe work environment, reporting any undocumented conditions or damage to Site Supervisor
• Follow company policies regarding work hours, time off, change orders, time clock, expenses, etc.

Currently we are looking to add 1 Skilled Carpenter to add to our amazing team. We offer full time, year-round employment (Monday to Friday; 40-44 hours per week).

Most of our projects are in the Downtown and Midtown neighborhoods of Toronto from High Park to the Beaches and we are looking for someone who lives in central Toronto area.
