We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand to join our growing team at our London, Ontario facility

Reporting into Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for leading and executing the daily activities of a busy Shipping & Receiving team as well as overseeing inventory management.

This includes managing all transactions and movement within the warehouse and that of inbound and outbound material. The Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand has a key role in our Operations team, finding better, smarter, and more cost-efficient ways to get things done.

This person must be able to create momentum and excitement within the team to implement change.

This is a DAY SHIFT position with the hours being Monday through Friday 8am to 4 : 30pm.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

• Responsible for daily operations of the warehouse and small team with shipping, receiving and general material handling, planning and executing workload based on shipping, receiving and requirements of inventory management.
• Ensure proper QC checks on inbound foreign shipments.
• Ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to while promoting a positive Safety culture.
• Ensure all inbound materials are received and accurately recorded in ERP (Syspro).
• Ensure all finished goods are shipped in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Actively manage employees to achieve high levels of quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure all warehouse areas are kept clean, organized and free of hazards before, during and after each shift (5S).
• Handle employee concerns and issues, including filling out incident reports or other relevant documentation and submitting to Operations Manager.
• Planning out daily requirements to maintain uninterrupted workflow, using strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities.
• Assist with the onboarding training of new employees.
• Operate mobile equipment including Forklifts in the warehouse as required.
• Any added duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the success of our business
• Proactively seek out process improvements using KAIZEN and LEAN methodology.

WHAT YOU HAVE :

• 2-3 years of lead hand experience in a fast -paced material handling / shipping / receiving / logistics environment.
• You have excellent knowledge of shipping product both domestic and international.
• You have strong knowledge and experience with customs paperwork and EPA.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

• You can communicate at a professional level using the English language both verbally & written.
• You have the ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
• You are legally able to work in Canada.
• You have reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
