Description

Under the direction of the Production Manager, and with the assistance of the Production Superintendents, the successful applicant will coordinate a 4X4, 12-hour shift rotation with a focus on leading, directing, and controlling the shift operating crew to ensure safety performance;

production throughput targets, process cost control, environmental compliance; government regulations and insurance requirements are satisfied.

The successful applicant will be a proven leader with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to teamwork, and possess extensive experience in the production process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Supervised approximately 40 employees.
  • Ensuring mill policies are followed and correct interpretation of the labor agreement is applied.
  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing the process.
  • Coordinating training of operators within the lines of progression and scheduling of operating crew holidays.
  • Investigating problems that occur on shift and initiating immediate corrective action ensures poor quality or less than target production rates do not occur.
  • Maintaining close coordination and communication with all other department supervisor’s during shift rotation.
  • Monitor and submit hours worked to Payroll and daily shift logs to Management
  • Generating work orders and purchase requests in SAP, using Intelex for policies, procedures and updates, Microsoft Word for any documentation and Excel
  • Required to lead safety meetings, safety tours and safety investigations and document the meetings and investigations in Intelex as required
  • The ability to access the Warehouse during off hours to find and sign parts out as required
  • Monitor and coordinate all aspects of running the mill process. safety, environment and production and ensuring all mill policies are adhered to and followed
