WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME ON BOARD?

We’re currently looking for a dispatcher in Granby, in the Eastern Townships region, who will be responsible for coordinating bus traffic, ensuring that routes are on time, and acting as a first-line advisor to drivers.

In addition, the person will be required to fill in on school routes as needed.

Main responsibilities :

  • Plan itineraries and schedules for routes and trips;
  • Guide and coach drivers, find solutions to problems and make arrangements for unforeseen events;
  • Select vehicles and equipment;
  • Assign drivers to routes and trips;
  • Provide drivers with the necessary information and documents for the trips to be made;
  • Monitor compliance with vehicle routes and schedules;
  • Monitor drivers’ compliance with company rules and procedures;
  • Manage a large volume of telephone and radio traffic;
  • Update trip data;
  • Validate travel documents upon drivers’ return;
  • Act as intermediary between the school bus service, School Service Centers and drivers;
  • Conduct school tours as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (DES) or equivalent;
  • Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or Attestation of College Studies (ACS) in Transportation Logistics Technology (an asset)
  • One year’s dispatching experience;
  • Basic knowledge of radio distribution equipment
  • Computer skills Suite Office ;
  • Knowledge of Google maps software;
  • Knowledge of the Granby, Waterloo and Sainte-Cécile de Milton road network;
  • Class 1 or Class 2 license;
  • No criminal record related to employment;
  • Valid Canadian work permit (mandatory);
  • Spoken and written language : French (mandatory)
