Project Opportunity

FCC Canada is looking for an Scheduler to join the Cross Fraser Partnership.

The Cross Fraser Partnership team that will collaborate with the Province through the development phase is comprised of Bouygues Construction Canada Inc.

Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., and Pomerleau BC Inc.

The Fraser River Tunnel Project includes a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99.

The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separate active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.

The project also includes replacing the Deas Slough Bridge and decommissioning of the existing tunnel once the new immersed tube tunnel is in operation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining detailed resource- and cost-loaded construction schedules for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Working with project teams to provide input for baseline schedule and monthly updates, while also maintaining open communication with them when delivery schedules change to allow for effective time management.
  • Review schedules for validity and constructability.
  • Incorporating scope changes to the schedule.
  • Preparing schedule updates / revisions as well as monthly progress reports.
  • Monitoring project progress against baseline and providing delay and time impact analyses.
  • Supporting project teams with planning and scheduling during preconstruction, design, construction support, and construction phases.
  • Working with the Virtual Design team to develop 4D schedules.
  • May assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasks.
  • Reviewing purchase orders and subcontract schedule status and providing management with input on subcontract performance.
  • Conducting and assisting in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
  • Providing analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues.
  • Assisting in procedure development and implementation.
  • Updating and producing scheduling management reports.
  • Performing remedial schedule risk analysis.
  • Assisting in tracking corrective actions.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry working on schedule preparation.
  • Proven ability and experience in scheduling complex projects and coordinating with PM and project teams - construction, design, estimating, procurement, etc.
  • to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Knowledge of construction management techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and TILOS.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of the Earned Value Management principles.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Hard Dollar, Power BI, Synchro, and MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $100,000-$140,000 CAD. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.

Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
