Key Responsibilities :

The safety specialist / investigator ensures site activities comply with the Cameco’s safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) requirements and investigates Safety, Radiation and Environmental incidents.

• Work closely with middle and senior management of the operation
• Responsible for ensuring all safety, health and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed
• Participate in meetings
• Investigates injuries, accidents and near misses as per site corrective action processes
• Must have formal investigation training and experience leading investigations
• Develop corrective actions based on investigation results
• Present investigation results to the management team
• Database skills - entering investigation results into CIRS (Cameco Incident Reporting System)
• Monitors quality of incident investigations and ensures effective and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
