Room Attendant
Part-time regular Sunday through Wednesday (4days / week) 08 : 00 am 4 : 30pm)
Position Overview
- Responsible for cleaning and arranging tenant rooms and public areas in accordance with standards of excellence;
- Responsible for monitoring Emergency Response system and follow protocols for same;
- An integral part of the service team, the Room Attendant supports the provision of a quality living environment for seniors;
- Delivers exemplary laundry services, including both scheduled and non-scheduled assignments.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the housekeeping process and previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or retirement environment is considered an asset;
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills;
- Strong awareness of environmentally sound practices;
- Comfortable working alone or in a team environment, self-directed approach, able to plan and organize with minimal supervision;
- Ability of meeting the physical requirements of the position;
- Current First Aid and WHMIS certificates are required.
Key Activity Summary
Under the direction of the Lifestyle Manager, the Room Attendant delivers exemplary housekeeping services within tenant rooms.
In accordance with the Vibrant Advantage™ approach and philosophy, respects client requests for privacy and choice when delivering services;
Expected to exceed all guests' expectations through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently and politely to all tenant requests, questions, concerns, and / or complaints.
- Consistently take ownership of tenants issues and follow up to ensure satisfaction;
- Complete all assigned rooms within the allotted time as outlined. Cleans assigned rooms in accordance with standards;
- Ensures the residence is maintained to the highest standards and that work is always performed in a professional manner, including all common areas as assigned;
- Ensures all aspects of a room are in working order and that the room is cleaned to the highest quality standards. Reports any repairs needed to the Building Services Coordinator;
- Ensures security and privacy of all tenants at all times, including monitoring of emergency response system; Assists with Laundry services as required;
- Assists with common area cleaning as required;
Adheres to WHMIS protocols and infection control guidelines when performing job functions and maintains MSDS; and Other duties as assigned.
