Primary Duties and

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• This is an entry level position. Incumbent may operate any one of the following machines : Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.

Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes. Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select material to be fabricated or shipped.

Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.

• Unload and load trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Inspect equipment and put safety at the forefront of all actions and decision making

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements.
• Must have a form of reliable transportation. Location is not accessible via public transit and not within walking distance.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds, some heavy lifting may be necessary.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round (cold, heat, wind, rain, snow, etc.)

Special Demands

• Work schedule : 6 : 00am - 2 : 30pm, Monday to Friday
• Overtime hours may be required to accommodate operational demands (during peak seasons)
• Must be able to work any shift
• Must be familiar with, and adhere to shop safety policies and procedures
