We are seeking an Experienced Fire Pump Technician to join our team in North York, ON. The Fire Pump Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing diesel engine fire pump systems to ensure they operate effectively and comply with all safety standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Diesel engine repairs, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Technicians with experience repairing fire safety equipment will be given preference.
Responsibilities :
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire pump systems, including diesel-driven fire pumps, controllers, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance and testing on fire pumps to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with fire pump systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed on fire pump systems.
- Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and safety personnel to ensure comprehensive fire safety coverage.
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements as necessary.
- Participate in safety training programs and stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and technologies.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with fire pump systems or similar mechanical / diesel engine equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- Must be available for on-call emergencies and occasional overtime.
