INTERNAL / EXTERNAL JOB POSTING Public Works Maintenance Person - Roads 1 (Permanent Full Time) The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individuals to perform the duties and responsibilities of Roads 1 , Public Works Maintenance Person.
Responsibilities : Reporting to the Public Works Foremen, this individual will complement the Public Works staff i n the maintenance and construction of the municipal roads and right-of-ways.
Maintenance of storm sewer and drainage facilities; Construction maintenance projects; Winter maintenance activities, including snow plowing, sanding / salting, sidewalk and hydrant snow clearing.
Experience and Qualifications : OSSD or equivalent combination of education; Demonstrated experience in roads maintenance and construction activities, including snow plow operations.
Demonstrated skill in using hand tools and in operating of machines and equipment (ie. mowers, compactors, chainsaws, etc.
commonly used in Public Works; Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, relevant safety policies, standards and legislation (Ontario OHSA, WHMIS, OTM Book 7, etc.
Ability to work overtime for road construction, maintenance and snow removal operations as may be required; Applicants are advised that written, oral and practical testing may form part of the selection process.
Hourly rate : $29.01, per Schedule A’ of the Collective Agreement Note : Article 11.05 Trial Period and Schedule A will be adhered to.
