RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and monitor process equipment and machinery in the packaging department according to manufacturers and company specifications.
- Perform maintenance and lubrication on packaging machinery.
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing procedure on equipment and machinery as required.
- Extensive training and experience required to perform complex tasks.
- Ensure facility housekeeping standards are upheld
- Follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and other sanitary processes.
- Follow all applicable federal safety standards and local laws
- Assist with other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a industrial work environment.
- Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry is an asset
- Forklift license and experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jack an asset
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be proficient in English Language
- Punctual with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Safety equipment required. I.e. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles
- Frequent exposure to various temperatures
- Possible exposure to dangerous / hazardous cleaning materials
- Standing, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing and pulling is required throughout day
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Ability to lift / move up to 75 kg’s
- Overtime as required
