We’re looking for an ambitious and hard-working professional to join our Maintenance Site anf Facilities team,

As a Operations and Maintenance Technician , you will be responsible for .

The efficient and safe operation and the maintenance of the physical plant and related building equipment and its controls software, in compliance with rules and regulations set out by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority ( as well as any other regulatory agencies or jurisdictions governing the operation of Natural Gas Cogeneration systems.

The primary focus of this position is preventive and demand maintenance and operation of the Cogeneration Plant and the monitoring of the Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Shared responsibility for the daily operation and basic upkeep of our Natural Gas Generation Station and its surrounding areas
  • Able to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform some basic maintenance of the CoGen stations
  • Being available to answer issues after hours due a 24 / 7 operation
  • Accountable for maintaining all applicable records, logs, reports as set out by both internal and external sources
  • Shared responsibility for monitoring and reporting out on the BAS (Priva) daily
  • Operating the BAS control systems to assist in the daily schedules of the facility and outside contractor groups as needed
  • Ensures that any daily monitoring and / or problems are discovered before they become larger issues. Must be proactive
  • Able to navigate mech and elect drawings and technical manuals.
  • Maintain logbooks, maintenance forms and complete CMMS entries daily.
  • Produce reports, records of information related to operational, maintenance and safety activities in the BAS and Power Generation systems.
  • Act as first responder in the event of problems with both our BAS and our CoGen
  • Receive general alarms / trips from the plant and takes appropriate action.
  • May be called upon to manage the system via a remote-control centre such as a laptop. Be available to performs remote troubleshooting using the various digital controls at their disposal.
  • Assist in coordinating the activities of external service providers
  • Environmental awareness eliminates, reduce and / or clean up all environmental incidents. Report as regulated
  • Attends and participates in meetings, professional development training and all departmental orientation programs as assigned.
  • All duties outlined in the job description may occasionally be called upon to work alternate shift relief during staffing shortages or plant emergencies.
