We are currently searching for a Night Manager for our Global manufacturing client located in London, Ontario. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager you will provide leadership to the Production, Sanitation and Maintenance teams to ensure all goals are executed each night.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides leadership, direction, guidance and support to all night staff including production, sanitation and maintenance
- Support and promote the company’s health and safety program and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and JHSC recommendations.
- Ensures the efficient and effective use of manpower, equipment and material resources
- Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of effective functional and cross-functional teams and on-the-floor leadership to effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement
- Support and promote the company’s health and safety program and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and JHSC recommendations.
- Ensures the efficient and effective use of manpower, equipment and material resources
- Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of effective functional and cross-functional teams and on-the-floor leadership to effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement;
- Develops positive, motivating and efficient communication with all employees
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Quality Assurance Team to ensure timely and efficient start up each day
- Work closely with the Sanitation Supervisor to increase efficiency of the Sanitation process including decreased chemical usage and increased labour efficiencies
- Managing day-to-day operations in compliance with all CFIA guidelines, HACCP protocols, GMP’s and SOP’s
- Lead weekly cross functional Sanitation meeting with key stakeholders across the organization including Production and Quality Assurance to communicate sanitation performance metrics as well as review corrective action and drive continuous improvement
- Oversee pre-op inspections, along with follow up and corrective actions of results and communication with Production team on a daily basis
- Ensures the Company’s quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with Quality Services, full participating in the HACCP and BRC programs, as well as frequent review and implementation of Company and Government Policies
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post Secondary Education in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Ability to work overnight
- Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of KPI’s, Health & Safety & Quality
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
- Strong written / verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally
- Experience working with SAP or similar systems
