The role of NDE Inspector reports to the Manufacturing Manager. We have positions available on our 1st shift (Monday to Friday 3 : 30pm 12 : 00am) and 2nd shift (Monday to Friday 3 : 30pm 12 : 00am).

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to) :

  • Liquid penetrant inspections (LPI)
  • Radiographic testing (RT) - X-Ray Conventional Film and Digital
  • Ultrasonic thickness testing (UT)
  • Sample preparation
  • Interpretation of NDE specifications
  • Disposition of materials in writing
  • Visual, non-destructive and dimensional inspections (vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators etc.)
  • Quality assurance testing and reporting
  • Tracking material status
  • Performing other testing requirements during various states of the repair process
  • Working to defined standards and methodologies
  • Applying test criteria

Key Skill Requirements :

  • Excellent visual accuracy skills
  • Strong Inter-personal and inter-departmental communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Understanding of engineering specifications, drawings and written reports
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively follow health &safety and quality processes and policies

Key Education Requirements / Assets :

  • Graduate of a 2-year college level program in Mechanical Engineering Tech NDE or similar program an asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in NDE is required
  • Level II NDT Certification (CGSB / ASNT) is required or sufficient background enabling the attainment of certification required.

NAS410 qualification an asset.

  • Interest / experience in the nuclear or aerospace industry preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO quality system an asset
  • X-Ray inspections is an asset
