About

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems on production and auxiliary equipment
  • Modify, repair or replace parts of machinery to maintain production capacity
  • Inspect, lubricate machine part and determine future maintenance requirements
  • SHIFT ROTATION : 4 weeks of days, 1 week of afternoons, 1 week of nights
  • Perform changeover, set-up, and adjustments on production equipment
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the departmental safety action plans
  • Participate in major projects, installations and start-ups
  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics to determine spare parts requirements
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow all safety procedures
  • Ensure flexibility to respond to maintenance needs off-hours (very rare / emergency only)
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required or assigned by Management

Maintenance & Repair

  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • Industrial Millwright (433A) certification (Red Seal)
  • 5 yrs+ experience in a mechanical maintenance role in an industrial environment
  • Some electrical maintenance experience PLC troubleshooting, sensors, switches, motor replacement (no modifications)
  • Must have experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, conveyors, bearings, seals, gearboxes, machining skills and welding
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer’s manuals to determine how a problem is to be approached
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Able to communicate effectively with peers and managers
  • Able to take charge of projects and assigned tasks
  • Able to create material lists and provide input on most efficient install options for equipment and perform the installs
  • Strong safety orientation and ability to follow proper safety procedures (i.e Lock-Out / Tag-Out, etc.) with a do it right the first time’ mentality
  • Self-sufficient and team oriented
