Maintenance Millwright Associate Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Maintenance Millwright is directly responsible to provide safe maintenance, repair, installation and modification of all machinery and equipment.
The Maintenance Millwright will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization.
The Maintenance Millwright must follow all IATF 16949 : 2016 requirements.

Job Duties
- Report any safety hazards immediately to Asst Maintenance Manager / Lead Hand / Plant Manager immediately.
- Ensures and abides by Lockout procedures at all times including using lockout procedures at all times including using Ram Block when press is being cleaned or repaired.
- Ensures and abides by Guarding procedures at all times.
- Adhere to Forklift Pedestrian guidelines at all times.
- Assists in maintaining adequate hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic spare part inventory levels in stock room.
- Fabricates frames, platforms and other structural components by utilizing mig, tig and arc welding equipment.
- Helps to maintain adequate hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic spare part inventory levels in stock room.
- Improves hydraulic pneumatics circuits and systems in regards to stoppage of leaks, cleanliness of hydraulic oil, replacement of untidy pipes and hoses, etc.
- Passes on information, experiences and knowledge to other maintenance associates in regards to repair jobs, preventive maintenance, problem symptoms, etc.

- Listens to information, experiences and knowledge passed on by previous shift maintenance employees, to ensure effective, non-repetitious problem solving and machine repair.
- Performing preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures.
- Performs basic electrical troubleshooting tasks and is familiar with changing fuses and electrical switches.
- Repairs and replaces hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, pipes, hoses, filters, gearboxes, bearings, assemblies, etc.
- Responsible for entering work data information accurately and in a timely fashion in Maintenance Tracking system.
- Responsible for escalation of problem jobs to lead hand / Asst Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager.
- Selects and specifies hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic components for purchasing purposes.
- Sets up and operates Tool Room machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc. Manufactures parts with these machines to close tolerances.
- Updates hydraulic mechanical and pneumatic circuit diagrams of existing production equipment if any changes are made to the design.
- Ensures that the Assist Maintenance Manager / Leadhand / Supervisor Manager is kept informed on any unusual circumstances regarding faulty designs, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc.
- Maintains and takes owner ship in work order and preventive / predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms and enter data into the computer (Maintenance Tracking System).
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions.
- Remains objective and open to new systems which may occasionally be introduced within the company or department.
- Responsible for informing Asst Maintenance Manager / Lead Hand / Plant Manager of shortage of consumables for repairs
- Supports production in all areas to minimize production delays.
- Works in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship at all times.
- Ensures work area and machines are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times.
- Stores equipment and tools properly when not in use.
- Responsible for ensuring floor around work area is kept cleaned at all times and free from oil and other tripping hazards.
- Participating in and providing On the Job Training with / to other maintenance Team Members.
- Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing.
- Supports production in all areas to minimize production delays.
- Performs overtime as required to meet customer demands.
- Is expected to be available for summer & winter shutdowns to perform repairs and jobs which can only be repaired at that time.
Job Requirements
- Must possess a Valid Ontario or Inter-provincial 426A / 433A Millwright Certificate
- Minimum of three years as a Licensed Millwright in an automotive environment preferably stamping and welding
- Good working knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing stamping presses and welding equipment.
- Good communication skills both verbal and in writing
- Valid forklift License
- Excellent teamwork
