Position Summary :
The Medical Receptionist plays an integral role in the clinics operations, ensuring that we continue to provide reliable, accurate, and compassionate services to our patients, referring physicians, and coworkers.
As one of our points of contact, the Medical Receptionist sets the tone for our patient journey within the clinic, and as such we expect that every interaction is entered with respect and dignity by providing every patient with clear, detailed, and timely care.
Main responsibilities will include checking patients in for exams, booking, coordinating patients for multiple exams, ensuring that clerical responsibilities are completed, all while ensuring a smooth patient and clinic flow.
Key Responsibilities :
Greeting and checking in of all patients
Verify and update patient information
Notify appropriate department of patient arrival
Ensure all requisitions are imported
Ordering and booking patient
Schedule follow up examinations
Answering phones and directing calls to correct recipient when necessary
Handle incoming report requests
Requesting previous exams from outside facilities
Photocopying, faxing, mailing
Constant communication with Diagnostic Imaging staff
Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and / or results
Provide patients with exam preparations
Confirmation of next day patient appointments
Any other duties deemed necessary by the Office Manager or Medical Director
Core Competencies :
Strong computer skills with Electronic Medical Record experience.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Able to work in a fast-paced / high stress environment
Able to perform daily tasks independently and as part of a team, while developing strong relationships and closely coordinating with staff of other departments.
Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
Self-motivated, reliable and punctual
Qualifications : High School Diploma.
High School Diploma.
Medical Office Assistant / Unit Clerk Certification is considered an asset.
12 months of prior related clinical experience preferred.
