Maintenance (Afternoon Shift)

Niagara Falls, ON Full-time $20.65 / hour

What will you do?

• Ability to performvarious maintenance functions such as greasing and replacing bearings,replacing, tracking and lacing conveyor belts, operating power tools such asdrills, sawzall, cutting torches etc.
• Ability to changingfilters, troubleshooting, repairs to glass plant primary and secondary grindersand screens, etc.
• Ability to cleaningunder conveyor belts, OCC separator, glass breaker screen and around the balingarea, etc., as required.
• Ability to navigatethe touchscreens for the optical sorters, container line, fiber line and glassplant.
• Collaborate with themaintenance and production teams to ensure the proper and safe operation of theplant.
• Ensure work area isclean, organized, and free of any safety hazards at all times.
• Observe safe workpractices.
• Heavy lifting / pullingis required.
• The successfulcandidate must also be required to complete courses on the forklift, snorkellift, fall protection and confined space entry.
• Other duties asrequired.

Skills and Qualifications

• Candidates must have previousexperience in performing maintenance and repair work, etc.
• Must have held a driver’s license.
• An excellent attendance record.
• Ability to work independently as wellas take direction.
• Proven mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to stand for extended periodsof time.
• Ability to work bent over forextended period.
• Ability to bend, push, and pull andlift up to 50 lbs or more.
• Post secondary mechanical technologyan asset.
