About

One of our major printings clients is looking for a Mailroom / Courier Associate Duration : 12 months contract with the potential for extension and permanent placement dependent on performance.

Hours : Monday -Friday 8am-5pm Location : Markham, ON ESSENTIAL DUTIES : · Prepare mail and packages for external shipment using common mail services including fax, air express, freight and postal services.

  • Receive, sort and process mail documents, packages, and supplies. Notify recipients.· Basic Printing utilizing colour production printers· Record & process accountable mail information, maintain logs.
  • Basic Printing utilizing colour production printers· Shipping and receiving using automated system to track and manage activity.
  • Arrange alternative courier or shipping services to meet customer requirements.· Determine output packaging per packaging standards.
  • Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments.· Operate mail equipment including mail inserters, sorters and finishing equipment.
  • Perform quality checks on outbound mail.· Perform charge-back reporting for postage, air express, local delivery, and faxes.
  • Perform mail labeling / mail merge.· Perform electronic mail distribution (open, mail prep, scan and distribute).· Perform fulfillment functions, such as assembly, packaging, and kitted materials.
  • Follow mailroom security procedures.· Perform logging, transmission, receipt, and timely distribution of faxes.· Deliver and pick-up mail on scheduled runs.
  • Recommend improvements to achieve cost savings and optimize workflow.· Track, trace, and resolve mail problems or concerns· Monitor / order / replenish supplies inventory.
  • Able to be on your feet 80% of the time.· Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.· Ability and willingness to learn.· Have a valid driver's license.

SKILLS : · Good communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.· Self-motivated.· Able to read, write and follow English instructions.

Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office.· Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform duties with minimal supervision.

EXPERIENCE : · 6 months to 1 year experience in a professional working environment.· Experience in a client-facing environment.
