Machine Operator Kings Wood Products is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our growing team! POSITION OVERVIEW The Machine Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating milling equipment.

They are also responsible for cleaning and quality-checking their machinery to ensure everything works as it should and are responsible for the efficient running for production.

The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and skills requirements outlined below, as well as an interest in expanding their knowledge / skill set.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity! DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Operate Pallet Maker machine (Viking).

Inspect equipment for safe operation prior to use and report any hazards. Assist the Supervisor and Team Lead to execute production schedule to meet daily targets.

Complete scheduled preventative maintenance & troubleshooting (such as replacing blades and cutting heads). Document machine set-up, blade / head changes, and preventative maintenance performed.

Adjust machine for cutting depth and feed rate according to thickness and species of product. Read, understand and follow work order information, processes, and quality standards.

Propose improvements to the process or the machines as needed. Set-up, monitor and troubleshoot production equipment, including consumables and settings.

Inspect work for conformance to quality requirements and re-work as needed. Maintain equipment and machinery for safe use.

Continually check outbound product falls within tolerances. Ensure finished product meets our Packaging Guidelines . Assist with stacking and bundling of product for outbound shipments.

Clean machines and immediate work areas. Comply with Lockout / Tagout Procedures. Follow company policies and procedures including health and safety requirements.

Fill inbound and outbound tallies completely and accurately. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.

Maintain activity logs. Train new employees. Perform other production tasks assigned by the Supervisor / Team Lead. Other reasonable duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED Prior experience operating machinery related to saws and wood manufacturing. Prior experience working with machinery and tools that perform various functions related to the manufacturing of products (drilling, cutting, nailing, grinding, welding, and turning operations).

Understanding and experience with Lock out / Tag out procedures. Solid understanding of general manufacturing processes.

Experience working with hand tools and power tools. Able to read and understand basic measuring tools. Basic math and analytical skills.

Understanding of production procedures. Attention to detail. Willing to learn and take direction. Able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines and manage priorities. Teamwork and communication skills.

Strong commitment to Health & Safety. Ability to comfortably and safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work performed can be both physically demanding repetitive in nature.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, stoop, and reach overhead.

Work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. Work in environments with varying air quality conditions, which may include exposure to dust, fumes, and other airborne contaminants.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. THE COMPANY Kings Wood Products was incorporated in 1970.

We manufacture various types of wood products used mainly by the manufacturing industry. Some of our products include pallets, boxes, reels, export packaging, and custom wood packaging.

We have built our business with a reputation of outstanding service at a fair price. We operate our own trucks and trailers to ensure that our 100% on-time delivery goal is achieved.

Typically, our customers are within a 75-mile radius of our manufacturing facility in Paris, Ontario, but we can service customers considerably further away.

We have been in our present location since 1982. The original building of 13,000 square feet has more than tripled to over 40,000 square feet at the present time.

We have five loading docks for van loading as well as paved area for flat deck loading. We are situated on eight acres of fenced yard for storage purposes, with two acres set aside for storage of finished product to ensure the quickest possible response for rush orders.

Our factory is equipped with up-to-date machinery that is maintained by our own maintenance staff. We are capable of producing a wide range of specialty parts in our custom shop and use our own jigs and fixtures to maintain a quality product.
