Summary (Major Purpose of the Role) :
The Lead Quality Control (QC) inspector will inspect, test, and sample materials, parts, or products for defects and any deviations from specifications.
Observe and monitor operations to ensure conformance to procedures and make necessary process improvements.
Main Activities / Responsibilities :
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database
Competencies :
- Assist in creating work guidelines for rework (quality control) work orders with Warehouse Manager
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Ability to self-govern their daily priorities and responsibilities, as in some cases the position may work alone at their site under remote supervision
Reporting Relationships and Supervision :
Reports to Manager, Quality Control with no direct reports
Education and Experience :
- Two-year degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or quality management
- 4-year degree preferred
- 3 years’ experience as a quality control inspector performing incoming or receiving inspection, preferably in a regulated medical device environment
