Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, F&B Outlet or the Assistant Manager, F&B Outlet, this position is responsible for, providing exemplary food and beverage service to casino guests in a fast paced envir onment.

This position is a dual role, working primarily as a Beverage Server with the responsibility for light supervisory duties in the absence of a manager or supervisor (typically for only part of a shift - .

the last 2 hours of a sh ift). Ensures adherence to the Company s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides beverage service following established standards of service
  • May provide limited food service from time to time
  • Responsible for handling various financial transactions involving beverage service to guests
  • Cleans and buses section
  • Responsible for communicating any potential issues or concerns regarding responsible beverage service
  • First point of contact for customer escalations including assessing situations for voiding or comping a meal
  • Responds to basic team member questions / issues
  • Responsible to check the phone for sick calls, may be required to call in replacements
  • Responsible for assigning sections to servers, bartenders and hosts (if applicable)
  • Responsible for basic shift training and orientation for new team members from time to time
  • Responsible for organizing EOs (early outs) if necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring basic opening or closing duties / checklist is completed, following up with co-workers if necessary
  • Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relation ships with all stakeholders : guests, ownership, team members, vendors and regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven leadership skills and qualities
  • Minimum 1-year food and beverage serving experience in either a bar or restaurant setting
  • Cash handling experience required
  • Point of sales experience required; Micros knowledge is an asset
  • Strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to stand and carry a tray for the duration of a shift
  • Works quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
