Brandt Truck Rigging & Trailers is currently seeking a Welder for our Nisku Location.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read and understand shop drawings
  • Must be able to weld with MIG
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use and operation of all hand power tools
  • Is responsible for accurately filling out process sheets and accurately counting number of pieces completed
  • Reports all damaged goods and or scrap to supervisor
  • Knows material sizes and specifications of product being worked on
  • Has some knowledge of settings and operation of oxygen acetylene cutting torch, plasma cutting, arc welder and mig welder
  • Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Has some knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment under this classification
  • Is familiar with and has understanding of most welding jobs and operations
  • Must have some knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Must be capable of working under minimum amount of supervision, and in a group environment
  • Has good understanding in proper use and care of jigs
  • Must be able to perform all welding functions at an acceptable standard level
  • Must be able to meet production deadlines
  • Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Able to effectively communicate in both technical and user-friendly language when appropriate, with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work on a 7 and 7 shift schedule
  • Must have minimum class 5 driver’s license
  • Previous experience with truck up fitting and manufacturing would be considered an asset but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
