Division info :

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position :

The Millwright will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in our facility.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, precision in workmanship, and adherence to safety standards.

This position is based on a hour per week schedule typically Monday through Friday but could flex based on business schedule.

Additional / Overtime hours may be required based on business schedule.

Main responsibilities :

  • Maintaining and repairing (or arranging for the repair of shop floor machines.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of machine breakdowns.
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations.
  • Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines.
  • Follow up with contractors / suppliers to ensure parts are ordered and received on a timely basis.
  • Prioritizing work schedule to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Maintaining and repairing physical plant structure.
  • Health and Safety enhancements to the machines and plant.
  • 5-S Activities which include health & safety awareness / initiatives.
  • Adherence at all times to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum Gr. diploma and Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to pounds.
  • The ability to wear the required PPE.
  • Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR / CGRP directives.
  • Own Tools / Equipment : Steel-toed safety boots and tools as required

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective time management skills to be successful in the assignment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require a high degree of accuracy
  • Availability to work between Kitchener and Cambridge sites when needed.
