Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indian Sweet Maker (Halwai) to prepare traditional Indian sweets (Mithai) for our restaurant / sweet shop.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Indian sweet-making techniques, ingredients, and recipes, ensuring high-quality taste and presentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare a wide variety of Indian sweets such as Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Rasgulla, Barfi, Ladoo, Kaju Katli, etc.
  • Follow traditional recipes while also being open to experimenting with innovative or fusion variations.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and taste of all sweets.
  • Maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Source and manage ingredients, ensuring fresh and high-quality raw materials are used.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring no wastage.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation of sweets for orders.
  • Assist in packaging and displaying sweets for sale in an attractive and hygienic manner.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper use to avoid damage or wastage.
  • Follow food safety standards and comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Proven experience as an Indian Sweet Maker (Halwai) or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in preparing a variety of Indian sweets and desserts.
  • Knowledge of the various regional styles of sweet making across India.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in presentation.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a team and manage time effectively.

Preferred :

  • Certification or formal training in Indian culinary arts is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen or sweet shop.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25kg, including large batches of ingredients and kitchen equipment
