ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an HVAC / R Service Technician at our location in Dartmouth, NS. The successful candidate will maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair various HVAC / R and gas equipment and systems within a portfolio of buildings to achieve optimum life span of the equipment.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC / R and gas equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company specifications.
• Complete digital work orders, detailed reports and daily digital time summaries.
• Ensure safe working conditions are enforced and strictly adhered to in accordance to company policy.

• 5+ years’ experience in an HVAC / R service and maintenance position for commercial sites.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification.
• Gas A (G1) Certification (or Apprentice).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security Clearance, as well as other site specific clearances.
• Experience using mobile technologies would be an asset.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and work from HVAC, mechanical schematics, electrical schematics, line drawings, etc.
• Knowledge in a variety of electronic, pneumatic, and DDC control systems an asset.
• Strong mechanical ability and problem solving skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and the ability to meet deadlines.
