About the position
Reporting to the health and safety supervisor, you will be responsible for the implementation of health and safety programs for Canadian terminals and the Pipeline Saint-Laurent.
The latter have been designed to ensure the maintenance of a healthy and safe workplace, regulatory compliance and adherence to Valero’s policies and procedures.
You will identify improvement opportunities and corrective measures, particularly through audit and inspection programs.
You will also ensure that all construction or maintenance projects undertaken are in full compliance with acts and regulations and with OHS best practices.
You will act as the in-house expert with respect to training, among other things, and carry out prevention activities. Promoting a strong OHS culture with Valero personnel, contractors and all stakeholders will be an integral part of your role.
These duties require you to be present in the field, which will account for 75% of your time.

Candidates must be available for occasional travel to various Valero facilities across Canada.

The individual in this position will be required to review documents and interact both verbally and in writing with colleagues at the head office in Texas or in other Canadian provinces, or with various stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, unilingual anglophone business partners.
