Guest Services Representative

Guardteck is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Guest Services Representative at the Bay Centre in Victoria, BC.

This is a part-time, seasonal position. The Guest Services Representative must ensure every customer interaction is carried out in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.

Being in the heart of downtown, this position enthusiastically and consistently delivers an authentic, engaging, experience for visitors to Victoria as well as the local community every day.

As a Guest Services Representative your key role will be to greet and assists guests at the Guest Services desk inside the shopping centre, and at the remote kiosk located outside the centre on Government Street, while promoting the Bay Centre experience.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The day-to-day varies, but some of the items you can expect to be doing are :

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the shopping center's services, amenities / facilities, stores / locations, promotional activities and comfort tools
  • Proactively seek opportunities to create memorable customer interactions assist customers and provide excellent service at Guest Services location(s)
  • Selling the Bay Centre by actively promoting retailer product or service offerings;
  • Interact with shoppers and retailers in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Sell shopping center gift cards, balance sales to transactions, and assisting guests and retailers with gift card transactions
  • Project a positive attitude over the telephone, in person and online over text to chat service
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers and educate them about the center's services
  • Assist guests by providing directions / information, answering questions, and performing other center specific services
  • Maintain store knowledge about merchandise, price points, sales or special events to be able to offer gift or store suggestions based on the shopper's needs
  • Conduct all service functions of the Customer Relations / Guest Services location
  • Assisting the marketing team with execution of promotions, sales incentives, seasonal campaigns and on-site activations relating to Guest Services
  • Be aware of the center's Crisis Management Manual and maintain a clear understanding of Guest Services role and areas of responsibility as outlined in the plan
  • Participate in special projects and assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous customer service experience (concierge, tourism or street team experience is preferred)
  • Sales experience (transaction management and cash management)
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with shoppers, retailers, center Management, Service Providers and all of the shopping centre personnel
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, multilingual skills a plus
  • Conflict resolution / management skills
  • Must be friendly, approachable, proactive and solution focused
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Chrome)
  • Flexible availability
  • High school education

The Guest Services team is employed by Guardteck Security. Please note this role is not security related.
