About The Opportunity

Working as an integral part of the Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Services Department, this position reports directly to the Team Leader, Food Program, This position will work within the Ayás Mén̓men Food Program areas including the Food Pantry, Growcer Hydroponic System & Food Garden.

This position specifically would be working within a state-of-the-art indoor hydroponic growing system designed to grow produce for community.

This individual will be required to maintain, organize and control of the Growcer Hydroponic System by using an automated system that come with Growcer to maintain control of the overall system.

Individual will need to perform basic maintenance on the system and complete tasks such as cleaning grow trays, mixing nutrient solutions and harvesting.

Training will be provided of knowledge of the Growcer, basic troubleshooting procedures for the system and attend weekly technical calls.

Other duties will include designing and implement planting schedules. propagate, transplant, maintain, and harvest plants, including post-harvest procedures.

This person will also assist other areas of the Food Program including the S7ilhen Food Pantry, Food Garden with supporting their program delivery & expected outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Combination of education and experience.
  • Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of plant nutrient and modern fertigation techniques, knowledge of soilless culture techniques, and understanding of plant nutrition.
  • Experience in cleaning and maintaining equipment, Working with your hands. Working outdoors (occasionally).
  • High level of emotional intelligence, patience and integrity.
  • Maintains composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Able to disseminate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Resourceful and organized with excellent time management abilities.
  • Able to deliver information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Acts ethically and with the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.

Salary : $ 22.51 - $ 24.70 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefit program.
