As our new Fluvial Processes Specialist, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Job Description Role

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, and open-channel hydraulics and interest in or experience with stream restoration, river systems, natural sciences, and aquatic ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities :

  • Collect, compile, manage and assess geomorphology, hydrology, and hydraulic data
  • Contribute to fluvial geomorphology and open-channel hydraulic assessments
  • Technical report writing
  • Work collaboratively across offices and disciplines

Qualifications / Education / Memberships :

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant geoscience or engineering discipline (, physical geography, geology, water resources engineering, environmental engineering)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Membership, or eligibility for membership, with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) would be considered an asset
  • Experience with erosion hazard assessments ( meander belts), erosion threshold analyses, and headwater drainage feature assessments
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Experience completing fluvial geomorphology field work such as measuring bankfull cross-sections
  • Familiarity with total station and RTK GPS survey methods
  • The ability to travel to remote areas safely and efficiently to undertake fieldwork
