Our client, a well reputed structural steel fabricator is currently looking for a Fitter for their facility north of Kitchener-Waterloo in Elmira.

Job Description :

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for fitting and assembling metal components and structures, ensuring they are accurately aligned and tacked in place for final welding by a Welder.

Your role involves interpreting technical drawings and take-offs to prepare parts for welding, with a strong focus on precision and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities :

• Fit and assemble metal components and structures based on technical drawings and take-offs.
• Tack pieces together to secure them in place, ensuring proper alignment for subsequent welding.
• Collaborate with Welders to ensure that fitted assemblies are correctly prepared for final welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Conduct inspections of fitted components to ensure quality and correct any alignment issues before welding.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety regulations.
• Work effectively with team members to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience in metal fitting and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and take-offs.
• Experience in any industry where fitting and assembly skills are required.
• Strong understanding of metalworking principles.
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
