Our ClientThe Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) is anonprofit charitable organization committed to creating a healthyhungerfree community by providing healthy nutritious food to thosewho need it most.

They rely on the generosity of the community tosupport the work they do through the donation of food funds andtime. These donations come from individuals families organizationscommunity groups as well as various fundraising / foodraisingefforts.

Theyare currently looking to add a FinanceCoordinator to their team. Thisis a unique role having both financial and administrativeresponsibilities.

Reportingto the Director of Development this team player will oversee andmanage the complete accounting and payroll function in addition toproviding highlevel administrationsupport.

Thisposition includes handling high amounts of confidential databudgeting cash flows financial reporting full cycle generalaccounting documentation and remittances.

Aday in the life of this roleincludes :

Humanresources benefits and payroll administration responsibilities suchas processing biweekly payroll; updating employee benefit profiles;

tracking and documenting employee changes;and

  • Financeadministration duties such as processing donations; completingremittances and reports for external bodies; monitoringexpenditures for the annual budget;
  • preparing reports &financial statements; reconciling accounts monthly; performingdaily accounting tasks such as cheque generation & managingdeposits;
  • managing accounts payable and receivable; assisting inpreparing the financial components of funding proposalsapplications and reporting;

ensuringadequate cash management practices are in place; and managing theCRM.

Thisis a fulltime opportunity (Monday Friday). Salary will be alignedwith experience level and is anticipated to start between $58000 to$65000 per year.
