Your Contribution

As an Field Technician you will work in collaboration with the Soils and Materials Team.

Your main responsibilities will be :

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
  • Provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment;
  • Conducting on-site field testing of soil compaction, asphalt compaction, and concrete properties;
  • Inspections including rebar and proof-rolling;
  • Preparation of field reports documenting equipment used, test locations, and results;
  • Attending regular staff meetings (potentially after-hours);
  • Assist with laboratory testing as needed;
  • Assist with equipment calibration and building maintenance as needed; and,
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your Profile

  • Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • More than 2 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling and testing and inspection, and association registration;
  • CCIL or ACI certification (asset);
  • Familiar with OPSS specifications relating to concrete, asphalt and soil compaction;
  • Familiar with identifying soils using the Unified Soil Classification System;
  • Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly;
  • CCIL or ACI certification (asset);
  • Must have a valid Ontario G Driver's License (driver abstract will be requested);
  • Must have a personal vehicle in good condition; and,
  • Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
