What You'll Do :

• Work and interact directly with seed canola growers in the summer
• Activities related to seed canola production, management of grower relations, supervision of planting
• Perform tasks associated with harvest, conditioning and treat / packaging, some general repair and maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Harvest activities from receiving to storage
• Conditioning activities such as cleaning and sizing, treating and packaging, palletizing, wrapping and sampling
• Shipping / receiving, interplant movement, rework, warehousing, and inventory management of bagged and bulk seed, including the safe operation of forklifts
• Compliance with Work Instructions and Quality Plan requirements
• Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports such as quality, safety, grower, and inventory records.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need :

• You have your High School Diploma / GED OR are willing and able to obtain your GED within 1 year of hire as a condition of employment.
• Knowledge of production agriculture

Valid Driver's License

Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and anticipate needs

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reliability, work accuracy, and timeliness

Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision

Compliant and engaged with safe work mindset and behavior

• Competent computer skills
• Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions
• Ability to climb and / or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
• Position involves repetitive motion and / or repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willing and able to work overtime / weekend / holiday work when needed
• Willing and able to work shift work
