Overview :

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Oilsands Business Unit is currently seeking a Terminal Operator. Reporting to the Day Foreman and located in the Sherwood Park office locations, the Pipeline Operator you will perform a variety of pipeline operational and maintenance duties.

Pembina Oilsands Unit is one of Canada's largest oil sands and heavy oil pipeline operators and the business unit operates one of the largest merchant terminal businesses in western Canada.

These combined assets allow us to provide long-term, dedicated transportation services to our customers.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to :

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the Life Saving Rules . To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com / safety;
  • Equipment and equipment system inspections and routine maintenance of facility equipment;
  • Input of work orders, isolation, lockout and safe work permit for the facilitation of maintenance activities using the maintenance management system;
  • Locally operate pumps, valves, pipeline pigging systems and other facility equipment;
  • Assist on new projects and commissioning activities;
  • Respond to alarm conditions and coordinate terminal activities in a manner consistent with our Environmental, Health & Safety standards;
  • Actively participate in all related Health & Safety programs;
  • Perform product quality and measurement related tasks such as tank gauging;
  • Product sampling and lab analysis;
  • To assist Operations Foreman to ensure operation KPIs and goals are met;
  • Monitor prime contractor’s performance and perform site audits; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications :

  • Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts, comprised of day, night and weekend shifts. With some on call requirements;
  • Availability to work overtime as required;
  • Minimum of five years’ oil / gas experience in an operating or maintenance capacity;
  • Good mathematical and analytical abilities;
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs;
  • SAP Plant Maintenance software knowledge and use is an asset;
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and is a strong collaborator;
  • Physically fit able to climb a large number of steps daily;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a reliable vehicle;
  • Safety Courses : TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid, ICS 100 / 200 would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by company to the successful candidate; and
  • An excellent safe work record.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Sherwood Park, AB

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
