Overview :

Pembina is sourcing for an Operator to join the Valleyview area. The location is located 200 KM from Valleyview and is a camp position on an 8-6 shift.

This position reports to the Day Foreman in the Conventional Business Unit, (CBU), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division.

Pembina's conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to :

  • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Responsible for routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, that include troubleshooting, repair of pump stations, block valves, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
  • Participate in a weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and / or operational problems;
  • Maintain pumps and valves by making repairs and conducting field inspections to ensure reliability and dependability for day-to-day operations;
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing generally accepted company and industry safety practices;
  • Be responsible for maintaining daily pipeline operations including measurement concepts, product quality, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
  • Conduct meter verifications and proving;
  • Organize and manage contractors as required;
  • Support Pembina’s goals, objectives along with participating an Inclusive and Diverse workplace;
  • The position requires an independent competent individual that can work safely on your own along with other team members; and
  • Days and Shifts, 10 hrs., 8 days on, 6 days off.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of related work experience, Operating experience preferred;
  • Hands-on experience with various computer applications, SAP experience considered an asset;
  • Skills in active listening, persuasion, diplomacy, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Collaborative nature, with strong capabilities contributing to teams with proven success of positive interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
  • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a high demand environment;
  • Strong adaptability skills for a work environment requiring frequent adjustments to changing strategic priorities;
  • Focused on outcomes and possesses an adaptable attitude towards change; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites.

You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
