This is a Contract role for a period of 1 year .

Reporting to the Director, HSE the Environmental Specialist will work on environmental site assessments , prepare and plan environmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Collect Environmental data to assess and interpret.
  • Review soil and groundwater sampling data and performing environmental site assessments
  • Coordinate Environmental Site Assessments, including ordering background information, Freedom of Information Act requests and historical documents
  • Prepare Project Specific Environmental Plans based on client requirements and internal processes
  • Review Environmental Incident reports to ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines
  • Prepare and interpret Environmental Monthly Statistics.
  • Plan sustainability evaluations and checklists.
  • Prepare Environmental Procedures and planning for ISO 1400, including Environmental Risk Register.
  • Coordinate Resource Planning & Recovery Authority between divisions
  • Lead Salt Management Plans and certification processes as needed.

Position Requirements :

  • A completed college diploma specializing in environmental engineering technology, environmental management & assessment, or a similar program.
  • Experience completing Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments, including site inspections and historical records acquisition and reviews.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Regulations 153 / 04 and 406 / 19.
  • 1-2 years of environmental consulting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of soil classification, particularly soil lithologies found within Ontario, is an asset.
  • Groundwater and soil sampling experience, including drilling supervision and oversight of monitoring well installation preferred.
  • Technical proposal and report preparation experience required.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license or equivalent and clean drivers abstract
