Job Details

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning coach.

They will provide flexible support to students / children according to their changing needs and to facilitate and encourage independence in all areas of student / child development.

Full time hours follow the school year calendar Monday to Thursday and Scheduled Fridays.

WEEKLY HOURS ARE APPROXIMATELY 32.5

The Education Assistant will establish effective working relationships with teachers, parents and the community. A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social and emotional differences including :

• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Trauma
• Down Syndrome
• medically fragile
• mild / moderate intellectually delayed
• ADHD
• self-care personal assistance

Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset.
