Education Assistant

The Burnaby School District is seeking qualified Education Assistants for on-call assignments.

Education Assistants are responsible for providing support for students in and out of the classroom, and within the community.

Specifically, assistance is provided in the following :

  • Behaviour management
  • Curriculum implementation
  • Social skills development
  • Personal care
  • Physical assistance

To be considered, candidates must have the following :

Required Qualifications :

  • Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance (eg. Education Assistant Program);
  • One (1) year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and / or
  • experience;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job

Hourly Rate : $35.11 per hour.
